Bonjour! I’m Veronique Godbout, the artist behind Atelier Vero — a Rhode Island-based studio where color, typography, and the ocean come together to create joyful, whimsical art. Born and raised in Québec, I bring my French-Canadian roots and joie de vivre to every piece I design. My work celebrates a love for words, waves, and the beauty of everyday life by the sea.

From Québec to the Rhode Island Coast

After years teaching design and illustration, I followed my heart — and the tide — to the beautiful shores of Rhode Island, where I found endless inspiration in the coastal light, seaside towns, and easy-going rhythm of New England life. Today, my art reflects that blend: the warmth of the North with the salt air of the Atlantic.

The Atelier Vero Style

Each illustration begins with a sketch, brushstroke, or hand-lettered phrase — created either in Procreate on my iPad or with ink and acrylic on canvas. My coastal art prints, French typography designs, and surface patterns are known for their bold colors, playful lines, and positive spirit. Whether it’s a smiling sun, a wave curling around a heart, or a saying like Sea La Vie, every artwork is designed to make people smile.
