What to Include in Your First Wholesale Email (With Script!)

So, you’re ready to pitch your beautiful products to a store. Bravo! Sending your first wholesale email can feel intimidating, but with the right structure and a touch of authenticity, it becomes just another extension of your creative voice. This post breaks it down for you—step by step.

When to Send a Wholesale Email

There’s no need to wait for a "perfect time." If your products are retail-ready (good photography, cohesive branding, clear pricing, line sheet), and you’ve identified shops that are a great fit, you're ready to reach out!

What to Include in Your Email

Keep it short, professional, and warm. Here are the essentials:

1. Subject Line
  • Keep it clear and inviting. Example:

    • "Introducing Atelier Vero - Whimsical Coastal Art for Your Shop"

    • "Wholesale Line Sheet + Joyful Products from a Rhode Island Artist"

2. Friendly Greeting + Quick Intro

Start with a hello and introduce yourself in 1–2 sentences. Include your name, brand, and what kind of products you make.

3. Why You Chose Them

Mention why you love their store and why you think your work would be a great fit. This shows it’s not a mass email.

4. What You Offer (Briefly!)

Describe your product line in a sentence or two: what you create, your style, what shops love about it.

5. Link to Your Line Sheet or Faire Shop

Make it easy for them to see more:

  • Include your Faire.com link or a link to a PDF line sheet

  • Bonus: a link to your Instagram or Website for a quick visual overview

6. Call to Action

Let them know what you’d love them to do next (ex: check out your line sheet, reply with questions, schedule a call).

7. Sign Off with Gratitude

Close with kindness and confidence. Don’t be pushy.

Sample Script

Here’s a copy-paste-friendly version you can personalize:

Bonjour [Shop Owner's Name],

I’m Véronique, the artist behind Atelier Vero, a Rhode Island-based brand creating whimsical, coastal-inspired art prints and accessories. My products are colorful, happy, and made to spark joy in everyday life.

I adore the aesthetic of your shop [Insert Shop Name], and I think my collection would resonate beautifully with your customers—especially the coastal, cat-loving, or French-inspired ones!

I’d love to invite you to explore my current wholesale offerings:

  • [Link to Line Sheet or Faire Shop]

  • [Instagram Handle or Website]

If you’d like a physical sample or have questions, I’d be happy to chat.

Thanks for your time and consideration!

Warmly,

Véronique Godbout, mywebsite.com [@yourhandle] on Instagram

Follow-Up Tip

If you don’t hear back within 1–2 weeks, it’s perfectly okay to follow up with a gentle reminder and maybe a fresh link to a seasonal collection or bestsellers.

Final Thought

The first email is the hardest—but it also opens doors. Be yourself, be clear, and know that retailers want to hear from passionate artists like you.

You got this.
